HIPAA Compliance

Compliance Statement

Vatsa reckons the privacy and security requirements setup by HIPAA as a momentous improvement to our healthcare industry. To meet these requirements a generous amount of policy and process control management in conjunction with technology upgrade have been put into practice. These include, all associates signing a non-disclosure/confidentiality policy statement, extensive research in Internet security and coming up with a 128-bit SSL web solution.

As a provider of services to the medical industry, Vatsa has created an internal HIPAA vigilance task force(HVTF) which is represented by cross-section participation of our internal departments. This task force is charted with improvising solutions, which ensure that all Vatsa associates receive the appropriate level of HIPAA awareness training. HVTF seeks input from HIPAA consultants to ensure current compliance and to maintain superior confidentiality of patient records. HIPAA security compliance rules are also enforced in the development and installation of all Vatsa's current and future applications. HVTF ensures appropriate administration, technical and physical safeguards for the integrity and confidentiality of all the records that Vatsa receives or processes. Currently, our service offerings meet the set HIPAA compliance requirements and with the formation of this task force, we believe our service offering will exceed HIPAA and JCAHO regulations.

Information Security

HIPAA regulations protect medical records and other "individually identifiable health information" (communicated electronically, on paper, or orally) that are created or received by covered health care entities that transmit these information. This would include any information, including demographic information collected from an individual, as well as any information that identifies an individual, or could be reasonably believed to identify an individual. HIPAA protects individually identifiable health information, which relates to the past, present, or future physical or mental health condition of an individual.
